Frankfurt needed only 10 minutes to score against Bayern München in front of their largest crowd of the season (3230).  Bajramaj ignited Frankfurt’s offensive dominance with her fifth goal of the season.  Garefrekes continued the scoring four minutes later by just managing to loft the ball over a diving Bayern goal keeper, Längert. Sandra Smisek’s hat trick was achieved in just six minutes, scoring at the 29th, 32nd, and 35th minute. Smisek’s second goal actually hit a Bayern München defender’s hand. The league has not changed the official stat as an “own goal” and most likely will not.

Frankfurt conceded its first goal of the season just prior to the end of the first half. Frankfurt’s defense was pushed up and Feiersinger was able to reach the ball before Angerer could make any contact at the top right hand corner of the box. Angerer acknowledged jokingly after the match that she was “caught playing out in the field.” Regardless of Frankfurt’s momentarily lapse of defensive superiority and Angerer’s mistake, Feiersinger’s spin placed on the ball was something to see.  The ball shot from the top corner of the box mysteriously spins into the goal as if attached to a string.

Garefrekes and Landstöm added to Frankfurt’s goal total in the second half. The seven goals scored assured Frankfurt a first place standing in the Bundesliga over other undefeated team, Turbine Potsdam, based on goal differential.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen versus SC Freiburg

Goals:  Boschert (5 PK); Kayikci (10); Sainio (40); Dej (59); Makanza (80); Zirnstein (90)

Subs:  Makanza for Kayikci (22); Igwe for Hegenauer (83); Zirnstein for I. Meyer (86)
Bayer Leverkusen's only change from last week’s starting line-up was Prießen for injured Götte. Unfortunately for Leverkusen, the result against Freiburg was similar to last week’s result against Frankfurt.  Trouble started early for Leverkusen—defender Elsing took down Sainio in the box. Boschert converted the awarded penalty kick giving Freiburg the early lead.  Kayicki added to Leverkusen’s woes, scoring in the 10th minute.Kayicki left the game in the 22nd minute with a possible broken arm.
Leverkusen suffered mentally and could not hold possession. Dej did manage to score for Leverkusen, disrupting Benkarth’s shoutout. SC Freiburg has always proven to be a dangerous offensive team.  With this victory, Freiburg is now in sixth place with ten points. Bayern Leverkusen, continues to struggle. The loss puts them in the relegation zone only one point ahead of last place Bad Neuenahr.
FCR 2001 Duisburg versus USV Jena

Final Score: 3-0
Starters:
Duisburg:
Bellinghoven
Wensing   Krahn   Neboli  Himmighofen

Popp    Islacker
Subs:  Cengiz for Oster (20)   Groenen for Ando (52) Müller for Islacker (77)

Milde   Schiewe    J. Arnold    Seiler
Hearn    S. Arnold
Subs: Salkunic for Milde (63) Schmutzler for Seiler (75)  Beil for J. Arnold (84)
The return to Duisburg for coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg failed to produce any magical upsets for USV Jena.  Duisburg had to play without Stefanie Weichelt due to the flu.  USV stubbornly defended Duisburg for much of the first half. Duisburg finally scored in the 57th minute after Popp headed a Wensing kick to Mandy Islacker who successfully finished for Duisburg’s first goal.  Bresonik and Müller scored to provide Duisburg with a confident victory.  With the victory, Duisburg is in third place with 19 points. USV is dangerously lingering above the relegation zone in 9th place—ahead of Lok Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bad Neuenahr.

Few would have expected last place Bad Neuenahr to hold Turbine Potsdam scoreless until the 70th minute. Nor would many have expected Bad Neuenahr to prevent Anonma and Nagasato from scoring—but that is exactly what Bad Neuenahr did.  Although Turbine Potsdam dominated the match, the final score reflects an uninspiring performance.  Bad Neuenahr’s Okoyino da Mbabi once again suffered with an injury and had to leave the match in the 38th minute. It was reported that she suffered a shoulder injury.  Potsdam’s only goal came as a result of an Odebrecht cross that was headed in by Cramer.  The result finds Potsdam in second place behind Frankfurt due to goal differential.

Jessica Wich allowed Hamburger to stay competitive in the derby, scoring in the 56th minute.  Goeßling gave Wolfsburg the lead in the 57th minute and New Zealand international Rebecca Smith scored her first goal in extra time.  The win secured 4th place for Wolfsburg while Hamburger drops to 8th.
